Area Activities
The tiny town of Dunsmuir is located near the base of Mt. Shasta. It is one of several small towns circling the base of the majestic mountain, where skiing, snowboarding, winter mountain climbing, hiking, and other winter activities abound. The mountain and the Ski Lodge are minutes away from Dunsmuir. So are many water falls, hiking trails, including the Pacific Crest Trail, and lakes for boating, fishing, swimming, and water sports. Fishing on the Sacramento and McCloud Rivers and the surrounding lakes are among the finest fishing experiences available in California.
